When I was a kid, the two things that I wanted to be when I grew up was either a chef or a fashion designer. I was always curled up with a pencil and a pad of paper, drawing my wildly impractical fashion designs, or in the kitchen helping to make the family meal.
While my father may have steered me towards a business degree by the time I went to college at the University of Oregon, I never gave up my passion for cooking or drawing. I still managed to minor in art with a focus on digital mediums, and I always preferred entertaining friends with a great meal over a crazy party... for the most part.
After graduating, I went to work for a public relations firm that represented some of the most incredibly talented people in Portland's hospitality industry. That role cemented my love for the world of food, and I knew that I had to find my niche in it.
@DrawnHungry is my way of showing love to all the hard-working, creative, and courageous folks who make food so good. Chefs, farmers, artisans, journalists, Instagrammers, bloggers, and passionate foodies all play a role in today's incredible food culture. I hope that my illustrations capture the unique spirits who make life taste better.
